To install STP Documents on a server, terminal server, or workstation, the prerequisites described in the following sections must be met. You can find additional hardware and software requirements in the technical documentation for STP Documents.
.NET Framework
The server requires .NET Framework 4.8. The .NET Framework is part of the operating system in some Windows versions and therefore cannot be installed. It must be enabled as a feature through the Windows program or server management. To avoid restarting workstations and terminal servers during the installation of STP Documents, .NET Framework 4.8 can be installed on these computers before reinstallation.
Note
On some server operating systems and Windows 10, you can only determine the installed version of the .NET Framework by checking this entry in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full

MS SQL Server
A version of Microsoft SQL Server approved for STP Documents is installed on the server or a database server. Please refer to the System Requirements chapter of the technical documentation for STP Documents for details.
Database
The database for managing documents, files, folders, and associated metadata for STP Documents is set up and configured.
MS Office
A version of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook approved for STP Documents is set up and configured on the terminal servers and workstations. Please refer to the System Requirements chapter of the technical documentation for STP Documents for details.
STP.Common.Services and STP User Management
STP Documents requires the installation of STP.Common.Services. For STP Documents, the STP User Management (service and application) must be installed and configured.
Registry
The registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation on the server must be set to 0.
