Have the following information ready:
- The password for the database user sa.
- The name of the SQL Server instance being used.
- The directory registered in SQL Server as the default location for database files.
- Is there already an STP database?
- The password for the database user STPUser.
- The password for the database user STPAdmin.
Configure Management Console
If winsolvenz.p4 is installed on the server, the Management Console and the STP database are already used by winsolvenz.p4.
In this case, you only need to import a new license file if necessary.
If there is no Management Console yet, the STP Management Console will be installed through the server setup. The creation of the STP database and the configuration of the Management Console occur during the first launch of the STP Management Console.
Follow these steps:
- Open the STP Management Console by double-clicking the "STP Management Console" shortcut on the Windows desktop. The "Initialization - STP Management Console" window will open.
- In the "Initialization - STP Management Console" window, choose between the following options:
A: Create STP Database
If there is no STP database yet, it must be created first.
Follow these steps:
- Select the option Create STP Database.
- Click the OK button.
- Enter values in the following input fields.
- Server: Enter the name of the SQL Server instance (e.g., MyServer\WZNET or MyServer).
- SA User of SQL Server: sa
- Password for SA User: Enter the password for the database user sa.
- Database: Enter the name of the STP database (e.g., STPDatabase).
- Directory for Database Files: In this field, you can specify the directory where the MS-SQL Server database files are stored. The input field is only active after successfully testing the connection.
- Click the Test Connection button.
- Click the OK button.
Specify a directory here if you want to use a different directory for storing the database files.
The field is pre-filled with the default directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA. Enter the directory registered in SQL Server as the default location for databases.
You can find the default location for databases in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
- Right-click to open the context menu of the SQL Server instance and select Properties.
- In the "Server Properties" window, click the Database Settings button.
- Click the Create Database button.
- Click the OK button.
- Enter values in the following input fields.
- Server Name: Enter the name of the SQL Server instance (e.g., MyServer\WZNET).
- Database Name: Enter the name of the STP database (e.g., STPDatabase).
- Username: STPUser. No input is possible in this field.
- Click the OK button.
B: Configure Database Connection
If an STP database already exists, the Management Console must be configured.
Follow these steps:
- Select the option Configure Database Connection.
- Click the OK button.
- Enter values in the following input fields.
- Server Name: Enter the name of the SQL Server instance (e.g., MyServer\WZNET).
- Database Name: Enter the name of the STP database (e.g., STPDatabase).
- Username: STPUser; No input is possible in this field.
- Password: Enter the password for the database user STPUser.
- Click the OK button.
