Install or enable .NET Framework 4.8 on all computers where STP Documents will be installed.
If no .NET Framework is installed before the new installation, the computer will restart during the update after the .NET Framework is installed as a prerequisite. The server must also have .NET Framework 4.8 installed or enabled.
To avoid restarting workstations and terminal servers when installing STP Documents, you can install .NET Framework 4.8 on these computers before the new installation.
.NET Framework 4.8
.NET Framework 4.8 is required for the server, the standard DESK, and the Outlook DESK.
Note
Install .NET Framework 4.8 on the server, especially if the STP.Updater server is installed on a different computer.
Note
The .NET Framework is part of the operating system in some Windows versions and therefore cannot be installed. It must be enabled as a feature through Windows program or server management.
Note
On some server operating systems and Windows 10, you can only determine the installed version of the .NET Framework by checking this entry in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full.
