Any user can create folders.
Any user with read access to the folder, either individually or through a group, can view folder data, tabs, and access rights, but cannot edit them.
Any user with write access to the folder, either individually or through a group, can edit folder data and tabs. They can view access rights but cannot assign them.
Any user with full access to the folder, either individually or through a group, can assign access rights for the folder. They can edit folder data and tabs.
You must be assigned the role of File Administrator through a group to edit the numbering of a file's tab structure and to use the functions Assign Tab Structure Multiple Times and Assign Access Rights Multiple Times.
Access rights to files and folders can be assigned in the "Access Rights" step in the "Edit File or Folder Data" window.
Assign access rights to files and folders.
Change the access right for the group Everyone to read or write access, or remove the group from the "Authorized" section.
Grant full access to a group (e.g., Administrators).
-
Preferably assign access rights to groups rather than individual users.
Whenever possible, do not assign access rights to documents. The full access right for the group Everyone on the document will then be overridden by the folder's access rights.
-
If no access rights are assigned, the group Everyone has full access to the folder.
The access rights assigned to a folder override any broader access rights on a document within the file or folder.
At least one user or group must be assigned full access rights to the file.
