Update Outlook DESK via Setup

Update the Outlook DESK. The setup installs the Client App Service (LCAS), which is essential for the Outlook DESK. An already configured connection to the Service Bus (SB) will be retained.

Note
All users who did not close MS Outlook before the update must log out of Windows and log back in after the update. Only then will the new functionality be available in the Office add-ins.

Continuing to work with previous versions of the add-ins may cause issues.

Note
The Outlook DESK is precompiled to speed up the application's startup. During this process, Ngen.exe is launched in a command prompt. Missing dependencies occur because the products are delivered with the DLLs needed for functionality. However, NGen goes through all dependencies and encounters referenced DLLs (or their dependencies) that are not used by DMS. This then causes the "FileNotFoundException".

Errors during precompilation do not lead to different behavior or errors in the program. However, the first startup or opening of dialogs may not be as fast as when using it precompiled.

Terminal Server

On a terminal server, switch to installation mode with change user /install in the command prompt run as administrator, and start the executable file STP LEXolution.DMS Outlook DESK Setup.exe with the option "Run as administrator".

Follow the instructions of the installation program. Accept the suggested values from the previous version.

Then switch back to execution mode with change user /execute.

Workstations

Workstations can be updated via the STP.Updater Client.
