Interface of the STP Management Console

The "STP Management Console" window consists of a main menu, the "Administration Tasks" section on the left side, and a detail area on the right side. Select an area in the Administration Tasks section to set the settings for the selected area in the detail area. Additionally, the Close button is available.

Main Menu

The main menu contains the following items:

  • "Application" The "Application" menu contains only the "Close" item. Click on the "Close" item to close the management console.

  • "Tools" The "Tools" menu contains the following options:

    • "Log in …" with the submenus
      • "User" Click here to hide all administrative tasks.
      • "Administrator" Click here to log in as an administrator. After successful login, all administrative functions are available.
      • "Support" Click here to log in as a support staff member. After successful login, additional functions for special support tasks are available.
    • "Create New Database" Click this option to create a new STP database.
  • "License Management" (available only after login) Click once on "License Management" in the navigation area to activate the "License Management" option. This menu contains the "Switch Database" option. Click on it to manage another STP database.

  • "Help" contains the following options:

    • "Help for STP Management Console"

      Click here to open the help for the management console. The Acrobat Reader must be installed to view the help.

    • "About …"

      Click here to get information about the STP Management Console such as application version, database versions, and installed administration components.

"Administration Tasks" Section

In this navigation area, you will find the "STP Base," "LEXolution.DMS," and "winsolvenz.p4" sections. In the "STP Base" section, you will find license management, and in the "LEXolution.DMS" and "winsolvenz.p4" sections, you will find areas to update the LEXolution.DMS or winsolvenz.p4 server and an area where the LEXolution.DMS or winsolvenz.p4 database can be upgraded to the current version.

The "LEXolution.DMS" or "winsolvenz.p4" sections are only displayed if the associated programs are installed on the same computer.

STP Base

Click on License Management in the navigation area to open the License Management section.

License Management

In this window, you can import and manage STP licenses for winsolvenz.p4 and STP Documents. In the "Licensed STP Components" section, you can select individual components. In the "Assigned Fixed Licenses" section, you can assign a fixed license for the selected component to each workstation or user.

You must be logged in as an administrator on the STP Management Console to open the "License Management" window through the "Administration Tasks" section.

The "License Management" window contains the following buttons:

Details Button

  • Click this button to open the "License Information" window. In the "License Information" window, you will find Firm Name, Customer Number, GIS License Code, and Additional Information.

Import License File Button

  • Click this button to import an STP license file.

Workstation Licenses

  • Each workstation (desktop or remote desktop) requires a license. Each assigned license is tied to a workstation.

User Licenses

  • Each STP Documents user requires a license. Each assigned license is tied to a user.

Remove Account Button

  • Click this button to remove the selected account. The workstation or user will be deleted from the license database.


    Note

    You cannot undo this step with the Reset Button.



    Note

    If you do not select a user or workstation, the first entry in the list will be deleted.



    Note

    If no other element is highlighted, the first entry in the selection list has focus, even though the element is not highlighted.


Update Button

  • Click this button to refresh the data displayed in the "License Management" window.

Save Button

  • Click this button to save the assignment of licenses to workstations or users.

Reset Button

  • Click this button to restore the last saved state.

  • In the "Assigned Fixed Licenses for: <Module Name>" section, the following buttons are available:

>> Button (Assign licenses to all workstations)

  • Click this button to move all workstations or users from the "Available Workstations/Users" section to the "Assigned Workstations/Users" section. This assigns a license for the selected component to each workstation or user listed.

> Button (Assign a license to the selected workstation)

  • Select the desired workstation or user and click this button to assign a license to the selected workstation or user. The entry will be moved from the "Available Workstations/Users" section to the "Assigned Workstations/Users" section. This assigns a license for the selected component to the workstation or user marked in the list.

  • If you do not select a user or workstation, the first entry in the list will be moved.

  • If no other element is highlighted, the first entry in the selection list has focus, even though the element is not highlighted.

< Button (Remove the license assigned to the selected workstation)

  • Select the desired workstation or user and click this button to remove the license assignment from the selected workstation or user. The entry will be moved from the "Assigned Workstations/Users" section to the "Available Workstations/Users" section. This action revokes the license assigned to the selected component from the marked workstation or user in the list.

Button << (Remove all assigned licenses)

  • Click this button to move all workstations or users from the "Assigned Workstations/Users" section to the "Available Workstations/Users" section. This action revokes the license assigned to the selected component from each workstation or user.

Button + (Add new workstation)

  • Click this button to assign a license for the selected component to a workstation or user.

  • The "Add New Workstation" window will open.

  • The "Add New Workstation" window

    In this window, you can enter a workstation or user. You can then assign a license to the user or workstation in the license management.

    The type of licensing is determined by the STP license file and cannot be changed via the management console.

    Enter the name of the workstation without the domain extension.

    When logging into STP Documents, licenses are automatically assigned to workstations or users. If you do not want every user who logs into STP Documents to be licensed for the selected component, you can manually enter the users who will work with the selected component here.
