Update STP.Updater Server
To update the STP.Updater Server, follow these steps:
Run the executable file STP.UpdaterServer.Setup.exe and follow the installation instructions. Accept the suggested values.
Update STP.Updater Client
The STP.Updater Server must be up to date. In the product repository directory, there must be a corresponding UpdateManifest.xml file and the setup for the current version of the STP.Updater Client.
When the application starts, it automatically checks for available updates. Depending on the set option, the updater will automatically check for updates at specified intervals. If updates are found, you will receive a notification. You can choose to perform the update or cancel it. You will be notified again about the available update during the next check.
To manually update the STP.Updater Client, right-click the STP.Updater Client icon in the taskbar and select "Check for Updates" from the context menu.
On a terminal server, scheduled application updates should not occur because the terminal server must be put into a special operating mode. However, since the STP.Updater Client is a prerequisite for installing other STP client applications, it must be present on the computer before installing the STP client application.
The Windows service STP.Updater ClientUpdateService is disabled by checking the box Installation on a Terminal Server disabled.
Note
It is not checked whether the installation is actually on a terminal server.
Additionally, regardless of the selected setting of the Installation on a Terminal Server checkbox, the start of the STP.Updater Client on a terminal server is prevented.
If an update for the STP.Updater Client is found, you will receive a notification. If you agree to the update, the update or patch will be downloaded to the workstation computer, and the STP.Updater Client will be updated. After restarting the application, it will check for available updates again.
The updater always follows this order when searching for updates:
- Are updates for the STP.Updater Client available?
- If yes, display a notification. If desired, install the new version and restart the STP.Updater Client.
- Are updates for the STP.Updater Client available?
- If no, are patches for the STP.Updater Client available?

If you selected the Manual option in the setup or settings, no scheduled search will be performed.
To manually update the STP.Updater Client, right-click the STP.Updater Client icon in the taskbar and select Check for Updates from the context menu.
