TCP/IP Networks, Domain, and Exchange Server

STP Documents requires a TCP/IP network to operate. The STP User Management necessitates a domain. The Outlook DESK requires an Exchange Server as the primary mail server.

LAN/VPN Access

The transmission between client and server occurs over selectable ports (usually 8016 and 8018) as well as the LSB ports 5672 and 15672. The transmission between the remoting service and the MS SQL Server database takes place on the standard SQL Server ports (Port 1433). When using SQL Server instances or custom configurations, the SQL Server port may vary (e.g., 1029).

When using the STP.Updater client, an update service is installed on the client, which manages updates against the STP server.

On the client side, TCP/IP access is initiated over Port 8017. This point is important when using a personal firewall on the client, as it may block such virtual network traffic.
