The Interface of the Theme Designer

The theme designer consists of the "Theme Management" area with a list of all existing themes on the left side and on the right side the "General ...data" and "Theme-specific ...data" areas, as well as the Manage Lists and Close buttons.

"Theme Management" Area

The "Theme Management" area of the theme designer contains a list of all existing themes and the following buttons:

New Theme Button

opens the "New Theme" window.

"New Theme" Window

Fields marked with a yellow star (*) are required fields.

* Label

The label is displayed in the file or folder management as a file or folder type.

* Theme Name

The theme name is displayed in the theme management list.

Theme Type

Choose whether you want to derive a "Custom Theme" from a template or create a "Modified Standard Theme".

Available Templates

Select one of the displayed templates.

Next Button

opens the "Edit Properties" window.

Cancel Button

closes the window without saving the data.

Save Button

saves all changed themes.

(Edit Properties) Button

opens the "Edit Properties" window

"Edit Properties" Window

Change the theme in this window if necessary.

*Label (Required Field)

The label is displayed in the file or folder management as a file or folder type

Based On

This shows the template or standard theme from which the theme was derived. This setting cannot be changed.

Shortcut Key

The selected key can be used in the file or folder management to select a file or folder type.

Responsible Indexing Module

An indexing module can automatically provide metadata. Select a value from the dropdown list for the Responsible Indexing Module: " ", "p4Link", "PhantasyLink", "ReNoStarLink".

Disable Theme

"enabled": The theme should not yet be used in STP Documents.

OK Button

applies the data and closes the "Edit Properties" window. The Save button in the "Theme Management" area is activated. The changed theme is displayed in the list with a changed icon.

Cancel Button

closes the window without saving the data.

(Import from XML File) Button

imports a theme via an XML file and opens the "Import Theme from XML File" window.

(Delete Theme) Button

deletes the selected theme. Deleting a theme cannot be undone.

"Detail View" Area

The "Detail View" area is titled with the name of the theme selected in the "Theme Management" area.

Below, it shows from which standard theme or template the theme was derived.

(Save) Button

saves the theme.

Generate Source Code (C#) Button

Please contact STP Service to store executable code for input fields.

(Export to XML File) Button

exports the theme to an XML file.

The "File" Tab

The "File" tab contains on the left in the "Available Fields" area

  • a list of all available field types
  • the maximum number of fields of a field type that can be added (column "#").

The "General File Data" area contains a display field with non-optional fields.

The "Theme-specific File Data" area contains a display field with the file data defined in the theme and the buttons.

Button > (Add New Field with Selected Field Type)

opens the "Add New Field" window.

Button < (Hide Selected Field)

removes the selected field from the theme.

The "Document" Tab

The "Document" tab contains on the left in the "Available Fields" area

  • a list of all available field types
  • the maximum number of fields of a field type that can be added (column "#").

The "General Document Data" area contains a display field with non-optional fields.

The "Theme-specific Document Data" area contains a display field with the document data defined in the theme and buttons.

The "Folder" Tab

The "Folder" tab contains on the left in the "Available Fields" area

  • a list of all available field types
  • the maximum number of fields of a field type that can be added (column "#").

The "General Folder Data" area contains a display field with non-optional fields.

The "Theme-specific Folder Data" area contains a display field with the document data defined in the theme and buttons.

Button > (Add New Field with Selected Field Type)

opens the "Add New Field" window.

Button < (Hide Selected Field)

removes the selected field from the theme.

The "Manage Lists" Window

The Manage Lists button at the bottom of the "Theme Designer" window opens the "Manage Lists" window.

"Available Lists" Area

(Add New List) Button

creates a new selection list.

Save Button

saves all lists.

(Delete List) Button

deletes the selected list.

The display field below the buttons lists all available lists.

Document Categories Among the available lists, you'll also find document categories.

What are document categories good for?
- You can search by document categories in the quick searches of the standard DESK.

  • Document categories can be displayed as a column in the document list in the standard DESK, the DMS Pro Client, and in Outlook DESK.

  • In the DMS controls, the color coding is also displayed in the compact mode of the document list (e.g., for quicker identification of important documents).

Section "Edit List"

Here, the details of the highlighted list are displayed.

The section contains the input field for the list name and buttons

Button Add New Element,

Button (Edit Element) or Key [Enter],

Button (Delete Element).

Deleting lists and list entries cannot be undone.

Click on a list entry to open a list editor for the 2nd level. This way, you can create as many additional levels as you like.

Click on the buttons in the list for the level.

Button (Add New Element)

opens the "Add Multiple Entries" window.

The "Add Multiple Entries" window

In this window, you can add as many list entries as you like in the New Entries input field, separated by a line break.

When displaying the list, a blank entry is automatically added. This allows you to always choose no entry from the list.

Therefore, it is not necessary to manually create blank entries.

When saving the list, trailing spaces and any existing line breaks are trimmed or removed.

Already saved lists are automatically corrected. No manual intervention is necessary to add blank entries or remove trailing spaces and any existing line breaks.

Button (Edit Element)

starts the edit mode for the highlighted element.

Button (Delete Element)

deletes the highlighted element.
