When uninstalling the STP.Updater Client via the Windows Control Panel, the Windows service STP.Updater ClientUpdateService is not stopped or uninstalled.
This is necessary for technical reasons to allow applications to be updated without the user's administrative rights.
The service must be stopped manually and can then be removed with the command sc delete "STP.Updater ClientUpdateService".
Note
The complete uninstallation should only be performed by experienced administrators.
To uninstall the STP.Updater Client, follow these steps:
Exit the STP.Updater Client application. Right-click the icon in the taskbar and select "Exit".
Uninstall the STP.Updater Client program via the Windows Control Panel.

Open the command prompt with the option "Run as administrator" and enter the following command:
sc delete "STP.Updater ClientUpdateService"
Press the [Enter] key.
Delete the program directory of the STP.Updater Client.
Perform a complete uninstallation only if no other STP products are installed on the computer.
A complete uninstallation is not necessary for updating the STP.Updater Client.
For the automatic update of the STP.Updater Client, the service STP.Updater ClientUpdateService must be running.
Uninstall STP ClientUpdateDienst
Perform a complete uninstallation only if no other STP products are installed on the computer.
STP Documents and winsolvenz.p4 require this service to update the client applications on the workstations. For the automatic update of the STP Documents or winsolvenz.p4 clients, the service STP ClientUpdateDienst must be running.
1. Open the command prompt with the option "Run as administrator" and enter the following command:
- sc delete "STP ClientUpdateDienst".
2. Press the [Enter] key.
The services STP.Updater ClientUpdateService and STP ClientUpdateDienst are not identical.
The service STP.Updater ClientUpdateService is part of the STP.Updater Client.
The service STP ClientUpdateDienst was part of earlier versions of the winsolvenz.p4 or STP-Documents client application and can be removed as described above.
Related to
