Mark Documents for Deletion

In STP Documents, you can mark documents for deletion. These documents will no longer appear in the document list. Through the Trash on the [Desktop], you can delete marked documents or remove the deletion mark.

In document management, you can edit all documents marked for deletion.

Mark Documents for Deletion

  • Select the documents you want to mark for deletion in the [Document List].

  • Right-click to open the context menu of the document list and select "Management" > "Mark for Deletion".

You can easily drag and drop documents into the Trash on the STP Documents Desktop. Documents in the Trash will have the status "Marked for Deletion".

Documents should NOT be marked for deletion if

  • older versions are selected

  • the user does not have write permissions on any of the marked documents |

  • any of the marked documents are finalized

  • any of the marked documents are locked.

Remove Deletion Mark

The deletion mark was set by the logged-in user. To remove the deletion mark from a document, follow these steps:

  • Double-click on the Trash on the STP Documents Desktop to open the document list for the trash.

  • Select the documents in the document list whose deletion mark you want to remove.

  • Right-click to open the context menu of the [Document List] and select "Management" >"Remove Deletion Mark".

Help in Case of Problems

When removing the deletion mark, you will receive the following message:

The function is not available for all documents

The "Error Cause" column states: "User has no access or document not present in the database."

The document has already been permanently deleted, or you only have read access rights.

Click the Cancel Button to close the message window. Press the [F6] Key to refresh the search results in the document list.

If the document no longer appears in the search results, it has been permanently deleted.

If the document appears again in the search results, you only have read access rights.

Disable "Mark for Deletion" Function

Description:
In the Kanzleieinstellungen, you can disable the "Mark for Deletion" function. If this function is disabled, the related menu entries will no longer be available in the system.

Instructions: 1. Open the Kanzleieinstellungen from the main menu.

  1. Switch to the "General" tab.

  2. Scroll all the way down until the section "Function ‘Mark for Deletion’" is visible.

  1. Uncheck the box "Enable ‘Mark for Deletion’ Function".

  2. Click "Save" to apply the change.

Note
After disabling the function: * The context menu entry "Mark for Deletion" is removed from all relevant areas (e.g., DESK, DMS Controls).

  • The function is also no longer available in the personal settings.
