Signing

Sign Documents (Desktop)

On the desktop (Windows), DMS Mobile DESK supports digital signing of PDF documents with a qualified electronic signature (qeS) in the PAdES format (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures). For this, you need a software certificate or a signature card (with card reader) from a trust service provider listed in the European Union Trust List (EUTL). To generate electronic signatures using the software certificate or signature card, PKCS#11 middleware is required. Currently, DMS Mobile DESK exclusively supports SecSigner by SecCommerce. Since SecSigner is installed on the desktop where the card reader is connected, DMS Mobile DESK requires a client-side bridge. This is where the STP.Documents Desktop Agent comes into play.

The Desktop Agent receives the PDF document to be signed from DMS Mobile DESK and forwards it to the installed SecSigner. The familiar SecSigner dialogs open, the user enters their secret PIN on the card reader, and the signed PDF document is then returned via the Desktop Agent to DMS Mobile DESK. It is then uploaded as a new version through the end-to-end encrypted tunnel to the DMS backend.

Sign Documents (Mobile)

Unfortunately, DMS Mobile DESK currently does not support electronic signatures on smartphones.
