Case File Overview

Display

The area containing information on individual case files is divided into 3 sections.

Each section contains individual panels that can be repositioned and moved between sections.
Panels you don't need can be permanently shown or hidden.
Custom settings are saved when you close the view.
In the panel tables, column order and visible columns can be saved per panel in the user profile.
Panel tables can also be displayed as cards.
The display order can be changed and saved in the user profile. In the panel tables, the 4 columns Creator, Created by, Editor, and Edited on are always shown, regardless of any changes made to the case file.

In the ribbon — the top command bar under View — you can reset individual views or all views and object list layouts to restore them to their default state.

When the view is opened, the Favorites filter is active, so your personal case file favorites are displayed.
In addition, all case files with the status Potential and In Progress, as well as all case file types, are shown.
The location is not pre-filled.
The Context Filter option is automatically set and activated by the system when the view is opened via a context menu jump.

Context Filter

The "Context Filter" checkbox indicates that the case file list does not contain all case files, but is restricted by a filter set by the system.
This filter is not shown in detail in the ribbon.

For example, if you jump to the case file view via a search, the "Context Filter" checkbox indicates that the case file list is filtered by the search term you entered (which can be a very complex expression in the case of an advanced search — too long to display in full).
If you jump to the case file view from the invoice view, for instance, the "Context Filter" checkbox indicates that the case file list is filtered by the case file associated with that invoice.

The tooltip for the "Context Filter" checkbox shows a bit more information about what the list is filtered by.

If you uncheck "Context Filter," the context filter is removed, and the next time you click Refresh, all data will be reloaded based on whatever settings you have configured in the case file view ribbon.

Case File List

Clicking on Case Files in the case file list displays all case files in the system. You can sort, group, and filter the case file list. Right-clicking a selected case file lets you switch to another view via the context menu. If only one case file is shown in the list, its reference number is displayed at the top of the tab.

When the view is opened, the Favorites filter (in the Filter section) is automatically activated, so your personal case file favorites are displayed.
Favorites are indicated by an ochre-colored star in the case file list.

In addition, all case files with the status Potential and In Progress, as well as all case file types, are shown.
Locked case files are displayed in the view with a glasses icon.
The location is not pre-filled in the case file filter.

The Context Filter option is automatically set and activated by the system when the view is opened via a context menu jump.

Switch to the billing configuration for the linked billing run. This context menu entry only becomes available after you have added the case file to a billing run.

Invoices

Switch to Invoices: all invoices for a case file are displayed.

Invoice Drafts

Switch to Invoice Drafts: all invoice drafts for a case file are displayed. By clicking New in the Manage function group, you can create a new invoice draft for this case file — meaning the case file reference is pre-filled.

Open Items Debtors

Switch to Open Items: all open items for a case file are displayed. Clicking an open item in the upper part of the list shows the payment details in the lower section.

Case File Account

Case File Index

Switch to the Case File Index: the Explorer showing the case file's folders is displayed, where the case file's documents are stored.

If you have an integration with LEXolution.Pro, the DMS controls will be shown instead of the Windows File Explorer, including navigation, document list, and document preview. A wide range of DMS functions are available directly in the view, such as creating a new individual task or creating a new document version.

Time Entries

Switch to Time Tracking: all recorded activities — regardless of the employee — are shown in the list. After selecting an employee in the Substitution function group, you can click New to add a new activity to this case file, meaning the case file reference for the time entry is pre-filled.

Expenses

Switch to Time Tracking: all recorded expenses for a case file are shown in the list. Clicking New lets you add a new expense to this case file, meaning the case file reference for the expense is pre-filled.

Conflict Check

Switch to the Conflict Check view: all conflict checks for the selected case file are displayed. Clicking New lets you create a new manual conflict check for the case file.
