Important Notes for Updating to Version 9.2.84
- Major releases, feature packs, and service packs are cumulative and always include the complete current version.
- Lexolution 9.2.84 requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 on both server and client sides.
- If not already installed, please install the .NET Framework 4.8 in advance (for example, during a scheduled maintenance window) on the Lexolution server and on the clients to ensure the Lexolution update runs smoothly and without interruption.
- Lexolution 9.2.84 requires the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015-2022 (x64 and x86) – 14.30.30704 on the client side. If your system already has a current Lexolution.DMS or winsolvenz.p4 installation, the C++ runtime is already present.
- If you use the central STP User Management (UM), we recommend updating to version 1.5.163 or higher and updating the STP common services to version 1.5.0.
- You can find downloads for the .NET Framework 4.8, UM, and common services on our download page for Lexolution.
- Lexolution 9.2.84 is approved for Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, and for Office 2021 and Office 365.
- The Lexolution server update (final step in setup with the
Start Lexolution Serverbutton) may take over 15 minutes when updating from a version older than 6.4 on large Lexolution databases with millions of recorded entries (times, expenses). - Lexolution 9.2.84 requires IKAROS 2022 or newer.
Lexolution.BI
- Lexolution 9.2.84 requires Lexolution.BI 9.2
ADB Tool for Updating the Reporting Database
- If you use the ADB Tool, it must also be updated to version 9.2.84 on the relevant server (usually the SQL server). Please use the new config from the zip package and adjust the settings accordingly (database connection, number of threads, port, tables to exclude).
Documents (Lexolution.DMS)
- Starting with Lexolution.KMS 6.4.244, Lexolution.DMS is only used via the new interface. Note: The entry in the Lexolution server config is now equivalent to . No manual change in the config is necessary.
Other Notes
- Lexolution 9.2.84 is approved for Office 2024.
- Localizations for German, English, French, and Swiss (de, en, fr, de-ch) are included in the setups starting with Lexolution.KMS 6.3.81 and are installed automatically. If server-side localization is not desired (e.g., on an English app server with English error and info messages in Lexolution), you can remove the respective folder (e.g., en) from the app server.
- With the rebranding from Lexolution.KMS to Lexolution in version 8.0.122, if you use the STP Updater, you need to adjust the directory in the STP Updater repository:
- For updates with setup:
- C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Update\Lexolution.KMS Client -> C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Update\Lexolution
- C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Update\Lexolution.KMS Word AddIn -> C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Update\Lexolution Word AddIn
- For individual file patches:
- C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Patch\Lexolution.KMS Client -> C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Patch\Lexolution
- C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Patch\Lexolution.KMS Word AddIn -> C:\ProgramData\STP AG\Updater\Repository\Patch\Lexolution Word AddIn

Bug Fixes
-
Conflict check does not stay on status “accepted” (#104170)
-
Previous behavior
- Lexolution 9.2.84 is configured so that a conflict check automatically starts after X minutes following a KFC-relevant change. See Administration > System > General Settings > Conflict Check section. If a KFC was manually performed and, for example, accepted or rejected within this time, it would still be run again and would revert to the status “Review required”.
-
New behavior
- Now, the system first checks if the KFC has a final status before it is queued for automatic execution after X minutes. This ensures that a KFC that has already been reviewed does not revert to “Review required”.
-
Previous behavior
-
Conflict check incomplete for case conflicts with conflict keywords (#104294)
-
Previous behavior
- If a conflict keyword with a description was added to a file in Lexolution, or if a description was changed for a conflict keyword, the search index for conflict keywords was not updated during this process, so a case conflict based on conflict keywords was not detected. For files with conflict keywords created via the cloud (New Matter Intake), this issue did not occur.
-
New behavior
- When a conflict keyword is added or changed in a file in Lexolution, the search index is updated so that the relevant case conflicts are detected.

Deadlines/Reminders: Filter does not correctly recognize date in certain cases (#89142)
-
Previous behavior
- In certain cases, when saving deadlines and reminders, a time was saved in addition to the date. In reports, these deadlines were not filtered correctly.
-
New behavior
- When saving deadlines and reminders, only a date is now saved. This also applies to the date of preliminary deadlines. For deadlines already saved with a time, the time portion will be set to 0 during the update.

Previous behavior
-

Another example of a user-specific layout with more clarity but less information at a glance
-
Customizable Interface Options in the Files View (#48707, #82074, #82074)
- The section for file data and the previous Quick Info area have been replaced in the standard layout by three sections. Instead of a single detail view with fixed tabs, these sections now contain individual panels that can be reordered and moved between sections. Panels that aren't needed can be permanently shown or hidden. Custom settings are saved when you close the Files view using the X on the Files tab.
- In the tables within the panels, the order of columns and which columns are displayed can be saved per panel in the user profile.
- The tables in the panels can be displayed as cards. The display order can be changed, and these changes can be saved in the user profile.
-
Filters in the Files View (#58681)
- When the view is opened, the Favorites filter is enabled by default, so your personal file favorites are shown. Additionally, all files with the status Potential and In Progress, as well as all file types, are displayed. The location is no longer preselected.
- The Context Filter option is automatically set and enabled by the system when the view is opened via a context menu jump.
-
Creation and Modification Dates in Panels (#50388)
- In the tables within the panels, the four columns “Creator,” “Created By,” “Editor,” and “Edited On” are displayed independently of changes to the file and are specific to each panel.
-
File Creation and Editing (#49141, #49142, #57457, #76484)
- After entering the required fields in the File Data panel, you must save. If required fields are defined in property lists, you will be prompted for them next. After saving, you can add more data such as participants and responsible persons in the other panels. The Old File Reference field can be edited to allow manual data transfers. Newly created files are automatically added to your file favorites.
-
Starting Conflict Check (#50653, #67351)
- Since data such as participants, conflict keywords, file status, etc. can now be edited and saved independently in the Files view, there is no longer a single starting point for launching the conflict check. The conflict check can now be triggered manually or on a schedule when the status “Execution Required” is set.
-
Setting File Status (#49229, #58484, #66055, #67335)
- When creating a file, you can choose between Potential and In Progress, depending on configuration. In all other cases, the status of a file can be changed using the Set File Status function in the ribbon. The Mandate Decision Date contains either the date of the mandate decision or the date the mandate was declined. If a mandate is declined, a reason must be entered. The order of status transitions is not validated, so it is possible to set mandates that are in progress back to Potential if the Potential status is allowed.

Negative Invoices Without a Previous Invoice
-
Finalizing Invoices with a Negative Amount
(#91992)
- Invoices with an invoice or payment amount less than 0 can now be finalized. In revenue distribution, the revenues are reduced.
- When applying advances, the total of the applied amounts cannot be greater than the invoice amount.
-
Consideration of Negative Invoices in Billing Distribution, Revenue Distribution (#92613, #92519,
#92910)
- The sign of the original outstanding amount is compared with the debit/credit indicator for payments/credits to determine whether the payment/credit increases the outstanding amount.
This means:- Outstanding amount positive and payment/credit is debit, the outstanding amount is reduced,
- Outstanding amount positive and payment/credit is credit, the outstanding amount is increased,
- Outstanding amount negative and payment/credit is credit, the outstanding amount is reduced,
- Outstanding amount negative and payment/credit is debit, the outstanding amount is increased.
- The import of account statements uses the same logic.
- The sign of the original outstanding amount is compared with the debit/credit indicator for payments/credits to determine whether the payment/credit increases the outstanding amount.
Applying Advances in e-Invoices
-
Applying Advances in e-Invoices as Invoice Line Item (#89859)
- The applied advances are included in e-invoices as a net line item and reduce the invoice amount, taking the tax rate into account. In the e-invoice, the fields are filled as follows: BT-129 Quantity with value -1, BT-130 with unit “piece,” BT-146 Net unit price with the applied net advance amount. The total net price BT-131 is calculated as [BT-129] * [BT-146] and reduces the invoice amount. The BT-153 Description field is filled with the following variable text: Advance payment from [advance payment invoice date] for document [advance payment invoice number] gross amount [applied gross amount] tax amount [applied tax amount]

System: General Settings for Scheduled Conflict Check (#89527)
- In the Conflict Check section, there is a setting to start the conflict check as scheduled. If conflict checks with the status “Execution Required” should be started automatically, this option must be enabled. The interval can be set in minutes. After configuration, the server service must be restarted to activate. This option replaces the automatic start of the conflict check when saving the file.
-

- File register templates are only available if the filesystem is configured as the document management system.
- The function right “4050 - Read File Register Templates” has been renamed to “Read File Register” and now only applies to the file register, not to the file register templates as before.

Employee Dimension: Calculate Years of Experience to the Exact Day
(#93242)
- In all employee dimensions, years of experience are now calculated to the exact day, always as the difference between the current date and the admission date. This change was made because previously, employees who received their admission in the same year were shown with the same years of experience, even if one was admitted at the beginning of the year and another at the end.
-
Employee Dimension: Date of Birth in the Statistics Model
(#93244)
- In all employee dimensions in the tabular statistics model, the Date of Birth field has been expanded. This allows for analysis and grouping by this field in Excel and Power BI. -
Invoice Component Dimension: Attribute Invoice Number Range (#93245)

-
Fact Times: Practice Group Duration (#93247)
- In the Fact Times of the tabular service accounting model, the facts Practice Group Share, Practice Group Scheduled Hours, and Practice Group Duration have been expanded. These now have the same granularity as the Practice Group Duration fact from the multidimensional model. This allows you to analyze whether an employee has completed their hours, broken down by practice group. The new fields are located under the Times fact in the Practice Group folder.
-
Direct Contact Group Dimension (#96165)
- In the tabular Service Accounting model, the Direct Contact Group dimension has been expanded. This allows for analysis and grouping by this new dimension in Excel and Power BI. The dimension has an N:M relationship to contacts and only includes direct contacts under the Relationship tab with the Group type in LEXolution. If a contact in the group has additional group contacts, these are not included in this type. The dimension can be analyzed with all facts where the contact has a relationship. The new fields are located in the Direct Contact Group folder.
