If two-factor authentication is active, a user can configure this in their user profile. This can be accessed via the user icon in the top right-hand corner of the STP Cloud page. If you click on it, a menu with the first menu item ‘Profile’ appears. This must be selected.
Configuration in the user profile
The user accesses the two-factor setting via the ‘Security’ menu item on the left-hand side. In the ‘STP identity provider’ area, the user can set the two-factor authentication for themselves. They can use the small switch to activate or deactivate the second factor, unless this has been set as mandatory for them by their administrator.
Use the ‘Save’ button to save the configuration.
Choosing Your MFA Method
Based on the MFA methods enabled by your administrator, you can
select either TOTP or Email as your
preferred method.
Click Save to apply your choice and use it for your
next login.
If TOTP has been enabled for your account, you can also choose to restart the MFA setup if needed. This will start the process for configuring an app (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator) for the second factor the next time they sign in. This is useful if the user wants to use a new smartphone, for example.
