LEXolution Inso Interface

Purpose of this Handout

This handout describes the technical background and the necessary configurations for using the KMS Inso interface.
It is primarily intended for administrators who need to be able to complete the system setup.

Technical Background

The interface connects the winsolvenz.p4 and LEXolution.KMS/LEXolution.FoMa systems.
This allows cases with debtors to be efficiently and easily forwarded for collection.

Cases can be automatically transferred from winsolvenz.p4 to LEXolution. In LEXolution.KMS, a corresponding KMS insolvency case file is created for each case, including all parties and responsible staff, eliminating the need to create case files and contacts twice.

The same applies to the option of automatically transferring debtors from winsolvenz.p4 to LEXolution.
A KMS case file is created in LEXolution.KMS for each debtor.
The case file is assigned to the case file as a sub-file.
There is no need to create case files and contacts twice, which represents a significant reduction in workload given the large number of debtor claims that can exist in a single case.

In addition, debtor claims (one or more per debtor) are automatically transferred to the associated KMS case files in LEXolution.KMS.
The claims can be viewed in LEXolution.KMS and, if needed, forwarded to LEXolution.FoMa.
Claims do not need to be re-entered in LEXolution.FoMa — duplicate entry is eliminated.

Configuration in winsolvenz.4

Software Base / License

A KMS Inso export requires winsolvenz.p4 version 10.1 or later; exporting from winsolvenz.p3 is not possible.
A winsolvenz.p4 Enterprise license must be present at the firm in order to use the export.

Employee Abbreviation – Administrator

Under Settings/Administrator, an employee with a staff abbreviation must be entered in winsolvenz P4 under the insolvency administrators section. This abbreviation must match the staff abbreviation of a lead responsible attorney in LEXolution.
The abbreviation is alphanumeric and can be a maximum of five characters.

System Settings

Under Settings/Firm/General Settings, the URL for the LEXolution interface and the App ID must be entered.
The settings are named

KLexolution Interface External App ID and LEXolution Interface URL

The URL is composed of "http://[KMS_ServerName]:[Port]"

Server name: The server on which the LEXolution server service is running.
Port number: The port on which the LEXolution external interface is running (default: 8002).

Fig. URL and App ID in winsolvenz P4

The external App ID must be created in LEXolution under Administration/System/ at System Administration/External Applications.
This must of course match the App ID entered in winsolvenz, or if none exists there, it should be taken from LEXolution.
The App ID itself has no functional significance and is used solely for matching purposes.
It can be any valid GUID.

Role / Permission for Export

The employee designated for the export must be assigned the Export LEXolution role under Settings/Users. This role is a so-called combination role, meaning the user must also have at least one additional role assigned (even if the user already has one of the administrator roles).

Exporting winsolvenz.p4 Insolvency Case Files as Case Files in LEXolution
  • Export is possible directly from a case or case file.
  • One or more case files can be exported at once.
  • Each case file can only be exported once.
  • Once a case file has been exported, this is indicated by a checkmark in the Exported LEXolution column.

The following data is exported: case information, the debtor, and the debtor's attorney (if legally represented). The court and the insolvency administrator are also exported.

Exporting winsolvenz.p4 Debtors as Collection Case Files in LEXolution

It is possible to export one or more debtors from Assets/Debtors along with the selected claims.
If no claim has been created yet, it is also possible to export address data only.
Each address and each claim can only be exported once.
Whether a claim has been exported is visible in the grid in the Claim Collection Status column, as well as in the corresponding field in the lower-right detail panel.

If the register entry contains a challenge (Anfechtung), the claim is treated as a challenge claim for export purposes.
For all other register entries, the claim is treated as a collection for export purposes.

For collection and claims case files, claims of the same type are grouped into a single case file when exported at the same time.
Claims that have not yet been exported can be exported later in a subsequent batch.

Configuration in LEXolution

Software Base / License

LEXolution supports import from winsolvenz P4 as of version 5.3 FP1.
The following key must be set to value 1 in "STP.Kms.Server.exe.config".

<add key\="IsExternalCommunicationServiceEnabled" value\="1"></add\>

Configuring winsolvenz.p4 as an External Application

Under Administration/System/External Applications, an application ID must be assigned for winsolvenz.p4.

Fig. External Applications

It is important that the App ID in LEXolution matches the one assigned in winsolvenz.p4 under Settings/Firm/General Settings as the LEXolution (KMS) interface external application ID.

winsolvenz.p4 Users in LEXolution

The winsolvenz.p4 users who perform exports must be created in LEXolution with identical usernames (including any domain prefix).
Administration/User Management/Users/ e.g. rnd2025 as shown in the figure.

Fig. Users

Lead Responsible Attorney

The administrator is found in winsolvenz under Settings/Administrator, and corresponds (technically) to the Lead Responsible Attorney (HVRA) in LEXolution.
The administrator specified in the winsolvenz case file, to which the case and collection case files are exported, must have a staff abbreviation that is identical to the one assigned to the HVRA in LEXolution. > Staff abbreviation: max. five characters, alphanumeric

Functional Rights for Import

The available functional rights for import are:

Practice Areas

The practice areas "Civil Law" and "Insolvency Law" must be created under
Administration/General/Practice Areas.
"Case File Practice Areas" must be selected in the filter.
Insolvency Law is assigned to case files and to collection case files involving challenges upon import.
Civil Law is assigned to collection case files that do not involve challenges.

Locations

The location used by the administrator in winsolvenz must also exist in LEXolution.
This refers to the administrator's place of business.

Case File Participation Types

This setting is found under Administration/General/Participation Types. The following participation types must be created: "Representative", "Debtor", and "Insolvency Administrator".

Important: If different participation types are defined in winsolvenz, these must also be created in LEXolution.
These can be freely defined in winsolvenz.
If a participation type is missing, you will be notified of this by name during the export to LEXolution.

Case File Number Range

The case file number range is created under Administration/Number Ranges as type Case File Number.
The abbreviation WZ must be used and the number range must be enabled.
