Step 1: Accessing the Document Browser
- To edit an existing template with the add-in, you first need to open the file and load it into the add-in.
- To make your file opening experience as convenient as possible, the add-in includes a document browser that lists all applicable documents available under your currently logged-in account.
The document browser can be accessed in the following ways:
- A dedicated button labeled Open File on the tools page that will redirect you to the document browser.
- A button in the header of the add-in that allows you to access the document browser from anywhere in the add-in.
Step 2: Finding Your Desired Document
- Once inside the document browser, you will see a combined list of all documents that can be edited with the add-in.
- Different types of documents can be identified by their file type located at the end of the filename (e.g., .docx, .dotx, etc.).
- The search bar at the top allows you to search for a specific document by its name and description.
Step 3: Opening a Document
- Once you have found the document you want to edit, you can click on it to open it.
- This will open the document in a new instance of Word if you are working in the app, or in a new browser tab.
- Once the document is opened, you can open the add-in if it is not already open and directly start your editing process.
