Welcome! We are delighted that you have chosen Legal Twin® - Case Knowledge. To ensure a smooth start, we have prepared a brief guide for you.
The onboarding consists of several steps:
You will receive an email from us containing your individual data needed to set up Legal Twin® - Case Knowledge. Using this data, you will first set a password for your stpCloud user account, log in with it, and then establish the connection between Legal Twin® - Case Knowledge and your individual Advoware account.
Setting your stp.one Password
Once you have received our onboarding email, you can set your password even before our joint onboarding appointment.
IMPORTANT: This process must be performed separately for each user!
To do this, go to this link. You will see the following window:
You can find the email address of your user account in the onboarding email. Enter this address and click “Request Link”.
You will then receive an email with a link that allows you to set your password:
If you follow this link, you can set your password:
Logging in in Advoware
After you have successfully set your password, you can now log in to Legal Twin®. To do this, go to your Advoware, open the “Files” menu item in the program taskbar and access the “Legal Twin Case Knowledge”. To access the chat activate the taskbar where you find it on the bottom.
In this window, you need to log in once more. You can save your login credentials by checking the “Remember login details” checkbox.
In the next step you need to connect your Advoware database to the Legal Twin®. The system detects that no systems have been connected yet and automatically shows the “Datenverbindung hinzufügen” dialog in the settings view.
Establishing the Connection Between Legal Twin® and Your Advoware
Legal Twin® - Case Knowledge is a cloud service and needs permissions to access on-premises stored Advoware data. You allow the connection to Advoware by providing your Advoware credentials:
- LawFirm ID: You have received your firm ID in the initial email from us
- Database: ADVOWARE (default) or your own designation (the database name is always written in all capital letters)
- Username: Please use your employee abbreviation from Advoware
- Password: Please use your employee online services password.
The password was assigned in the employee management in Advoware. Here you use the same password as for other products that are connected to Advoware, e.g. advoware mobile.
If you have forgotten your Advoware Online Services password, it must be reset. For this, please follow this instruction in Advoware. Please note that you must log in again in all systems where you also use these credentials (e.g. advoware mobile).
After entering the credentials, click “Hinzufügen”.
If the connection can be established, Legal Twin® automatically initiates the second phase. Here you need to grant access to STP.Documents.CloudStore. Since Advoware stores its documents on-premise, Legal Twin® needs some STP.Documents.CloudStore functionalities to better work with documents.
Keep everything checked and grant the access. The browser navigates back to the “Datenverbindung hinzufügen” dialog and automatically validates the connection. If everything worked as expected, the system will automatically close the dialog and navigate you to your cases.
You can now use Legal Twin® - Case Knowledge. In our article Analysis of Your First Case we guide you through the analysis of your first case and show you the basic functionalities of Legal Twin® - Case Knowledge.
Change Connections
You can always go back to the settings to add additional systems and remove them again.
