Brief description
To ensure that communication between on-premise installations and our cloud services continues to function reliably, we recommend that customers update Documents OnPremise Agent to the latest available version. Older versions may lead to reduced stability in communication between on-premise and cloud.
What is the Documents OnPremise Agent?
The Documents OnPremise Agent is a background service within our product landscape that enables communication between on-premise systems and cloud services.
It ensures that data and requests can be reliably exchanged between both environments.
Why is an update recommended?
Some installations are still using an older version of the Documents OnPremise Agent.
Updating to the current version improves in particular:
- the stability of communication between on-premise and cloud
- compatibility with current cloud components
- the reliability of hybrid system landscapes
Even though older versions may still work, we strongly recommend updating to ensure long-term stable communication.
Who should perform the update?
An update is recommended if:
- Your installation uses on-premise components that communicate with our cloud services, and
- an older version of Documents OnPremise Agent than 1.13.20 is installed.
If you are unsure whether your installation is affected, please contact your system administration or our support team.
How is the update performed?
The update is performed using the same procedure as for installing the service.
