Installing beA Desk

Overview

beA Desk is the client application for accessing and managing beA messages.

A running beA Message Server is required before installation.

Prerequisites

Before installing beA Desk, make sure that:

• the beA Message Server is installed and running
  
• the LEXolution Service Bus is available
  
• STP User Management is available
  
• the required user permissions are configured

Signature Components

To sign documents in beA Desk, one of the following components must be installed:

• STP beA Desk Signer
  
• SecCommerce SecSigner

Note
The signature component must be installed before installing beA Desk.

Note
If SecCommerce SecSigner is used, make sure the STP beA Signer has been uninstalled first.

Starting the Installation

Run the installation file:

STP beA Desk Setup <VERSION>.exe

Note
Run the setup as an administrator and from a local drive.

Installation Type

Choose:

• Complete → recommended
  
• Custom → allows custom configuration

Installation Path

Default path:

C:\Programme\STP beA Desk

Note
Changing the default path is not recommended.

Configuration

Connection to the Message Server

Enter the connection details for the beA Message Server:

• Computer Name → server hostname
  
• Port → default: 8097

Note
Do not include "http://" in the hostname.

Signature Component Path

Enter the installation path of the signature software.

Note
If the installation path was not changed during setup, the default values can be used.

LEXolution Service Bus (LSB)

Enter:

• Host
  
• Port (default: 5672)
  
• Username / Password

Note
The setup does not validate the connection details you enter. Make sure all values are correct.

Completing the Installation

Click Install to complete the installation.

Installing on a Terminal Server (optional)

If installing on a terminal server:

1. Open a command prompt as administrator
   
2. Run:
