Installing the beA Desk

Overview

The beA Desk is the client application for accessing and managing beA messages.

A running beA Message Server is required for installation.

Requirements

Before installing beA Desk, make sure that:

• the beA Message Server is installed and running
  
• the LEXolution Service Bus is available
  
• the STP User Management is available
  
• the necessary user permissions are configured

Signature Components

To sign documents in beA Desk, one of the following components must be installed:

• STP beA Desk Signer
  
• SecCommerce SecSigner

Note
The signature component must be installed before installing beA Desk.

Note
If you are using SecCommerce SecSigner, make sure to uninstall the STP beA Signer first.

Start Installation

Run the installation file:

STP beA Desk Setup <VERSION>.exe

Note
Run the setup as an administrator and from a local drive.

Installation Type

Select:

• Complete → recommended
  
• Custom → allows custom configuration

Installation Path

Default path:

C:\Program Files\STP beA Desk

Note
Changing the default path is not recommended.

Configuration

Connection to Message Server

Enter the connection details for the beA Message Server:

• Computer Name → Server hostname
  
• Port → Default: 8097

Note
Do not include “http://” in the hostname.

Path to Signature Component

Enter the installation path of the signature software.

Note
If you did not change the installation path during setup, you can use the default values.

LEXolution Service Bus (LSB)

Enter:

• Host
  
• Port (Default: 5672)
  
• Username / Password

Note
The setup does not check the connection details you enter. Make sure all values are correct.

Completing the Installation

Click Install to finish the installation.

Installation on Terminal Server (optional)

If installing on a terminal server:

1. Open the command prompt as administrator
   
2. Run:
